My personal and professional journey has taken me to diverse locations and roles. For nine years, I immersed myself in the primary forests of Borneo as a Ph.D. student and Postdoctoral Fellow. Following this enriching experience, I spent a year in the vibrant city of Berlin, renowned for its museums, serving as a Professor. In 2019, I returned to Sibu, Sarawak in Malaysia. Currently, I hold the position of Associate Professor and Head of the Advanced Centre for Sustainable Socio-Economic and Technological Development (ASSET) within the School of Computing and Creative Media at the University of Technology Sarawak. My role extends beyond borders, as I actively engage with academic and professional communities worldwide. Recognized as an COMSTECH Distinguished Scholar, I also hold visiting professorship position at Universiti Kuala Lumpur and serve as a consultant at Charles Darwin University, Australia. My expertise lies in co-designing technologies with indigenous communities, a subject on which I frequently deliver academic and professional talks. Notably, my projects have garnered attention from local and international media such as BBC Earth.
